There’s a reason why we want certain things over others. Our wants point us towards what we’re meant for. Versus our “shoulds” which tell us what others want for us or ways in which we’re supposed to live our lives. As 1st and 2nd gen immigrants, our ancestors didn’t get to honor their wants. They spent their energy surviving. They didn’t have the freedom to just do what they wanted and design their lives in a certain way. But we get to. We’re meant to.
